About Me .

Hey, I'm Daniel, a seasoned UX/UI and Interaction Designer with a background in graphic, fine art and education.

I love working in and generally hanging out with a team but can also equally go it alone, when necessary. I let freedom and creativity lead the way, but my logical side always marks the destination and packs a map.

You can catch me ripping it on my bike or hunting for fresh power but more often than not I'm squirrelled away catching up with, and being wowed by, the amazing work being put out by the design community.

My Working Style & Ethic

I am a highly creative and driven UX designer, committed to pushing boundaries and realising the full potential of every project. I challenge outdated paradigms to discover more effective and equitable solutions, balancing macro thinking with attention to emotionally impactful details.

Thriving in agile, collaborative environments, I value the contributions of colleagues and users. My insights into human perception, motivation, and behavior are grounded in extensive professional experience and academic study. Additionally, my background as a special needs educator and global work experience has enriched my perspective, enabling me to create inclusive and accessible designs.

My Background Before UX & Digital Design

My journey into UX wasn't direct. As the founder and lead artist of Parris Arts Collective in Saigon, I developed the transferable skills that have allowed me to excel as a digital designer. Starting in November 2019 as the sole employee, I was required to wear many hats as I grew the studio; from the artist's beret, creative director's beanie and business managers tie (worn on my head).

Through consistent high-quality work, savvy marketing, strong customer engagement, and active networking, I expanded the studio to support five artists who worked together to satisfy our ever growing demand for private commissions and corporate collaborations. Highlights included designing jerseys for the Vietnamese national basketball team and working with the Miss Saigon pageant.

This experience honed my creativity and business acumen, teaching me to manage a diverse team, deliver large projects, and balance product quality with enterprise benefits.
